Rules you set, not spreadsheets
Your lending policy becomes settings that the system applies to every request, the same way each time.
- Borrowing limits as a multiple of salary, or as a share of take-home pay that counts what is already committed.
- Maximum terms for each product, and blocks for staff on probation or on a final warning.
- Products that cannot be held together, so nobody takes two loans your policy would not allow.
- One cap on all loan deductions together as a share of take-home pay. It is off until you set it.
- A live check on the application form, so a borrower sees whether they qualify before anyone spends time on it.

An approval chain for each product
Choose who approves and in what order. A small advance can have a short chain and a large loan a longer one.
- Line managers decide on their own team's requests, and nobody sees anyone else's.
- Nobody decides their own request: a step the applicant's own role would take is skipped for them. A role can also have its own chain for its own loans.
- Every decision, and every rejection with its reason, is recorded with who made it and when.
- Approvers get an alert, in the app and by email, when something is waiting for them.

The true cost, before the borrower says yes
The review step shows what the loan will really cost, not just the amount divided by the months.
- The monthly deduction, the rate, the total interest and the total to repay, calculated the way the schedule is.
- The borrower accepts the exact terms in the app. The terms are stored with a fingerprint and the date, and cannot be changed afterwards.
- Fixed rates, or rates that follow an index you keep up to date.
Payroll that reconciles
Wola works alongside the payroll you already run. It tells payroll what to deduct, and checks what payroll did.
- Each cycle, a CSV of the deductions payroll should make, person by person.
- The actual deductions come back in as a file, and every missed or short instalment is listed by loan and by person.
- Finance is warned if payday passes and no deductions have been recorded.
- Early repayments and extra payments are recorded against the loan, and the balance follows.
Paying out, and the book
Approving a loan and paying it are different steps, done by different people.
- A payout queue for finance: approved loans waiting for the money to be released.
- A repayment schedule for every loan, and the whole book with what is outstanding and what is behind.
- Collections shown against what fell due, with a plain sentence saying what the chart shows.
Leavers, without forgotten balances
A person who leaves while owing money is one of the commonest ways a scheme loses money.
- Marking someone as a leaver records the exit date.
- That month's deductions file asks for the whole balance, or your organisation handles it by hand: you choose the exit policy.
- Finance and HR are told, so the balance is not forgotten.
A ledger and audit trail nobody can rewrite
Anyone reading the record later, an auditor or a borrower, sees the same thing you did.
- Repayments and the audit trail are append-only. A correction is a new entry that says what it fixes, never an edit.
- Sign-in attempts and every change are logged.
- An auditor role can read everything and change nothing.

Reports finance can hand over
Portfolio and interest reports, with CSV exports and print-ready pages for the board or the auditor.
- A dashboard for each role that opens on the question the job asks.
- Insights written as sentences: what stands out this month, and what needs a person.
- Exports in CSV, and pages that print cleanly.
Your staff list, kept honestly
Eligibility is only as good as the records behind it, so Wola helps HR keep them healthy.
- Import employees from a CSV. Importing again updates people by employee number.
- A list of what is missing or needs a decision: no pay on file, a temporary employee number, no work email, an unclear line manager.
- Invite people in bulk from the staff list, with leavers held back.
- Everyone accepts the organisation's privacy notice before using Wola, recorded per person and version.
See it for your own role
Wola opens each person on the question their job asks. These pages show what that looks like.
