Service agreement

Last updated 21 October 2026

This agreement is between Synsify (“we”), which operates Wola, and the organisation that accepts it when it goes live (“you”). Version 2026-10-21-draft. The person who accepts it confirms they may do so on behalf of the organisation.

1. The service

  • Wola is software for running a staff-loan programme: applications, approvals, disbursement records, salary-deduction files, repayments, reconciliation, reports and an audit trail.
  • We provide it over the internet and keep it running with reasonable care. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and we will tell you in good time about planned work that affects you.
  • Wola is not a lender and does not hold or move your money. The loans are yours; the decisions, the interest and the risk are yours.

2. Plan and fees

  • Your plan follows from the number of active staff you declare, at the prices published on our website when you accept. Every plan includes every feature and every role.
  • You are billed monthly, or yearly in advance if you chose that. Prices are in Ugandan shillings and exclude applicable taxes.
  • Going live starts 14 days of access. We then send an invoice. Access continues while you are paid up.
  • If access ends because an invoice is unpaid, nothing is deleted: your data is kept and everything returns when payment is recorded.
  • If your staff count outgrows your plan we will move you to the right one. We will give 30 days' notice of any price change.

3. Your data

  • Your data stays yours. We use it only to provide the service to you, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
  • For your staff's personal information you are the controller and we are your processor. We act on your instructions, keep it confidential, and limit access to people who need it.
  • Each organisation's data is separated from every other's by the database itself. Sign-in attempts and every change are recorded in an audit trail that cannot be edited. Two-step sign-in is available and you can require it for roles you choose.
  • We use these services to run Wola: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database) and Resend (email). Data may be processed outside Uganda. We will tell you before we add a service that handles your data.
  • If we learn that your data has been accessed or lost without authority we will tell you without undue delay, and in any case within 72 hours of becoming aware.
  • When this agreement ends we will, on request, give you an export of your data, and we delete it within 60 days unless the law requires us to keep it.

4. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for having a lawful basis and your staff's agreement for the loans you make and the salary deductions you take, and for the accuracy of the pay and staff information you enter.
  • Keep sign-in details safe and give people only the roles they need. You are responsible for what people you invite do.
  • Until we have verified your organisation you can invite only people at your own organisation's email address. Once we have, you can invite anyone.
  • Do not try to reach another organisation's data, overload or attack the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access for serious breaches, without notice where the risk is serious.

5. Ending it

Either of us may end this agreement by giving 30 days' written notice. Fees already paid for a period you are in are not refunded unless we end it without cause.

6. Limits

Wola is software, not financial or legal advice. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

7. Changes and law

We may update this agreement; the version and date above show which one you accepted, and we will tell you about changes that matter. It is governed by the laws of Uganda.
